MORE No More Stuck Buckets!
Переглядів 1,4 тис.3 місяці тому
My original video on separating stuck buckets went viral (well, for me) getting nearly 1 million views. That indicates the universal nature of the problem. A follow-up video offered alternative solutions to separating stuck buckets if you didn't have a compressor. These were solutions suggested by you the viewer. Some worked for me, others didn't. This video shows an option that should work ALL...

    • @HomesteadDIY
      @HomesteadDIY 19 годин тому

      I've never tried so I just did an online search and I didn't find any indication it will help. Have you tried vinegar and water mixed at about a 4:1 ratio? I've had pretty good success with that but it's not a permanent solution. The weeds eventually come back. One method I like (but only because fire is fun) is using a propane torch. Not one of those small canisters but the hose you attach to a 20-lb can. Since its a gravel drive it should be a simple matter and because it's such a large area you need to do might be the most time effective. I'll say the weeds come back from that too but they seem to stay dead a bit longer. Sadly, Roundup and similar products are the most effective solution.

      lol it can be so frustrating. I'm guessing you are talking about the inlet and outlet hoses into the filter. To be honest, I haven't touched them since I installed it 10 years ago however IIRC, you push in the outer ring where the tube goes in and then pull on the hose. At the 2:45 mark in the video you can see the connection. The part right where the tube enters into the tube I believe you push that in. As I said, it's been a long time since I've done it. Good luck!

      FWIW I just looked for the manual for the unit online and Whirlpool's manual doesn't even show the hose connections. It shows it hardwired to the house plumbing with outdoor hose bibb connections. If I come across my manual and it shows how I'll post it here, but I do believe my original instructions are correct or at least close to what you have to do

    • @HomesteadDIY
      @HomesteadDIY 7 днів тому

      Found the instructions! A little worse for the wear but it is as I said. You push in the outer ring, the collet, and while pushing it in, you pull out the hose. That releases the tubing. Hope that helps.

    • @HomesteadDIY
      @HomesteadDIY 19 днів тому

      It will take successive sprayings. This is an ongoing battle I have every year with my grapes. It seems if I delay spraying them for even a little I see bunches of grapes start developing black rot. I even considered just digging up my vines this year (I didn't). I think spraying every two weeks, especially after a rain can help save them. This is definitely not a once and done.
